Camouflage

Camouflage: a strategy of concealment, either oneself hard to see, or by disguising them as something else.
Assimilation: the process whereby individuals of differing ethnic heritage are absorbed into the dominant culture of a society. Taking on the traits of the dominant culture to such a degree that the assimilating group becomes indistinguishable from other members of the society.

What does it mean to be a person of a color existing in White America? What does it mean to exist as an immigrant? We have the same blue passport, the papers. We speak the same language as you, celebrate the same holidays. Are we not American? Is assimilation the process of gaining another culture, or is it losing your own?

These are the questions tha tarose while making this collection - taking inspiration from Korean traditonal art and incorporating it into popular western prints.
